A Student Finds Her Perfect Practice

We received this testimonial from Nichole & it always makes us so happy to see the way CCY is helping transform our students’ lives. There’s no doubt that yoga can not only change you physically, but it can also improve your outlook on life. Read Nichole’s story and see how yoga helped her recover both physically and mentally after a car accident. If you have a story to share about how yoga has transformed your own life, please send it to amanda.charmcityyoga@gmail.com and we’ll feature you on our blog!

I have worked in the fitness industry for more then 7 years as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor (I currently work at the MAC Harbor East). I am an endurance athlete at heart, and admittedly I have had poor stretching habits my whole life. In December I was rear ended by a car on my way to work. The pain in my jaw, neck, shoulder, and back set in immediately. This unexpected accident in my life gave me anxiety and depression, but I quickly realized I needed to heal myself and believed yoga was the answer. I was right and it became so much more. I soon found the trifecta of yoga instructors for me: Jessica Crowley, Michelle Cagan, and Kelly Neale. Each of them provided me the confidence and capability to work back to where I was physically and also allow myself to surrender to what my body is truly capable of. Jessica with her precisely structured and heartfully designed classes, Michelle and her swift and spiritual flow, and Kelly’s soothing voice and mindful postural holds. My experience over the past few months has inspired me to challenge those close to me to make it apart of their lives as well. Each day I feel a little more flexible, more still, and so much more fulfilled. Today I am thankful for the presence each of these amazing women and there teaching practice has brought in my life. Kim Manfredi I am grateful for your generous gift of Charm City Yoga.

Namaste,
Nichole Twigg
