About Our Staff
Chris Blades – Co-Owner
Chris has pursued an active research career in observational astrophysics in Britain, Spain, Australia, and the United States. For 25 years, he worked on the Hubble Space Telescope as a senior scientist involved with Hubble servicing missions. Seeking a radical life change, Chris left academia in 2009 to grow his entrepreneurial endeavor, Charm City Yoga, with his wife Kim Manfredi.
Allison Korycki – Head of Operations and Community Relations
Allison joined the Charm City Yoga community in May 2009 as the Towson Studio Manager. There, she fell in love with the exceptional instructors, compassionate staff and devoted students. She began teaching at CCY in December 2010, after completing Kim Manfredi’s 200-hour Teacher Training Program. She first discovered yoga while studying Sacred Space abroad in India. In 2008, she received a B.S. in Political Science and a B.A. in Philosophy from East Carolina University. She currently lives in Charles Village and enjoys practicing yoga, hooping, and seeing live music. Everyday, she is grateful to have an occupation that supports so many Baltimoreans on their paths to enlightenment.
Melissa Cohn – Manager of our Midtown Studio
Melissa started practicing yoga while she was in massage therapy school ten years ago and graduated from Kim’s teacher training program in 2009. Although, her whole life, she always did movement that she later realized WAS yoga! She started getting deeper into the practice to help maintain her health so she could have a long career in massage. She hopes her students leave her class feeling invigorated and stronger than when they came in. She draws from her massage background to focus on structure and alignment during class, and to help students understand their body alignment and how to adjust it to feel better in everyday life.
Margo Coruzzi – Manager of our Towson Studio
Margo has been managing our Towson studio since April of 2011. She has taught at Charm City Yoga for over two years and she is thrilled to be able to contribute even more deeply to the community by meeting and greeting so many of our students. She has a background in the Non-Profit world and believes that ‘taking care of people’ is the highest mark of success for any company. She looks forward to taking care of you when you visit our Towson studio!
Andrew Siegele – Manager of our Federal Hill Studio
Andrew moved to Baltimore in August, 2009, and started teaching for Charm City Yoga shortly after. He enjoys how teaching Yoga and managing a Yoga studio compliment one another. Andrew believes that helping each other doesn’t mean going out of our way, but rather that helping each other IS our way – and he works to offer this energy through teaching, managing, and living in the Charm City Yoga community as well as the world at large. Andrew recently received a B.S. in Physics from the University of Maryland and is planning on teaching Physics at some point in the future. He is fascinated by the level of agreement between the studies of Physics and Yoga and he is excited about where these two pursuits will lead him.
Emile Sorger – Manager of our Fells Point studio
Emile Sorger came to Yoga shortly after he came to Baltimore and his growth in his practice and in the city have mirrored one another. Since 2005, his practice and his commitment to the wellbeing of the city have greatly deepened. A recent graduate of Kim Manfredi’s 200 hour teacher training program, Emile is learning to integrate his yoga practice into his livelihood and now has the privilege to manage the brand new Severna Park studio as well as to teach classes both in Severna Park and Baltimore. Emile is devoted, through teaching yoga and through cultivating a warm and encouraging studio, to sharing the joy of practice with those in his community. In addition to yoga, Emile studies meditation and texts in the Mahayana Buddhist tradition and is a B.A. of religious studies.
